As part of the Saint-Gobain network, we support a chosen charity as part of our ‘together’ charity programme – with a different cause benefitting every 2 years.
Since its launch in 2002 this programme has raised over £2 million for worthy causes including Help the Hospices, The British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The programme encourages staff, their families, customers and suppliers to organise and participate in a range of activities to support the nominated charity through fundraising and volunteering.
We’ve now launched our new partnership with Barnardo's, helping to give children a voice, defending, safeguarding and supporting the most vulnerable in society.
The key focus of the new partnership will be to help vulnerable young people across the UK, particularly those who have spent their childhood in Local Authority care, and need support to enter the world of work as an independent adult.
Throughout the partnership, Saint-Gobain will extend its network of Employment, Training and Skills services to ensure that vulnerable young people, including care leavers, don’t miss out on the support, advice and work opportunities available to those from different backgrounds.
Saint-Gobain will also be using its expertise to support the Gap Homes programme – the construction of a series of starter homes on unused Local Authority land near existing Barnardo’s services around the country, to be rented to young care leavers and other vulnerable young people as a “stepping stone” to independent living.
At Barnardo’s they believe in children – no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. To find out more information, visit www.barnardos.org.uk.
Active in our communities
We also think it’s important to support the communities in which we operate. All our branches are encouraged to become involved in local activities by donating materials, expertise or time to local organisations and community projects. Keep an eye on our blog www.channelgraham.co.uk for news.
